1st-2nd June
Thursday was spent shopping and generally goofing off in preparation for our big outing to Pleasanton Goodguys Show in the weekend. We're taking the roadster on a REAL hot rod outing and hopefully stir up some interest in preparation for her sale. Not sure how she will be recieved among some of America's finest, but guess we'll find out soon enough!
Hung out with Nancy, Matty and Marks' son Micky, while Dave cooked tri-tips on the BBQ. Oh how I love having a man cook for me all the time!
Have been listening to the Country radio station and there's some pretty cool songs out at the moment, although some of the lyrics are starting to get a certain sameness about them. One caught my ear the other day, and included the words, "If you're going through hell, then keep on going...you may be gone before the devil even knows you're there"!
Another one states "Tequila makes her clothes fall off" I think it's the title of it actually! Only heard it once but it's a catchy little number...first the shoes get kicked off, then an earing falls in her drink...her jacket gets left in the ladies room...etc etc.
A t-shirt caught my eye at the drags..."I didn't want Mom to know I'd been drag racing for 20 years, so I told her I'd been in prison"
A bumper sticker..."Too many freaks, not enough sideshows." (Gotta agree with THAT one!!)
Friday night was oval track here, so after watching some new race cars test and tune on the strip, we had a couple of beers and settled into a bit of alternate motorsport. The track is adjacent to the strip and attracts some pretty wild racing. Here's a shot of the first race, complete with sunset.
